According to tests conducted at Winthrop University which measure the compounds responsible for spicy flavor - called capsaicinoids - these peppers measure a whopping 1,569,300 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). Jalapeno peppers only measure between 2,500-5,000 SHUs.
