Hello ladies and gents this is the viking telling you that today we are talking about

God of War 2: PlayStation’s Sony Santa Monica on massive hiring spree for PS5 sequel?

Could Sony Santa Monica be hiring more staff to join the team making God of War 2?  A new tweet from the studio reveals that a pretty big hiring spree is underway.  "We're expanding this family now," says the studio in a tweet (with an incredible gif of a God of War version of the Shaq/cat gif attached). "The studio notes it's looking for a senior combat designer, senior narrative animator, lead engine/pipeline programmer and tech art lead - among other roles.

Headed up by Cory Barlog, Sony Santa Monica isn't known as being a two-game studio, so we're pretty confident in thinking that these new hires are for God Of War 2, as development for the game really starts to ramp up.  Considering the world and its boy seems to think we're due an announcement of the PlayStation 5 any day now, it's not a stretch to assume Sony is developing this game with the next generation of hardware in mind.

Back in an interview chief Daily Star Online gaming reporter James Wright conducted with director Cory Barlog at E3 2017, it was clear there were hopes for more than just one rebooted God of War.
"For me, I am just trying to get this game done," Barlog replied when we asked about future plans for the series. "But I will say that when I chose this story, I had chosen it because I already outlined and mapped out stories for multiple games.

"I have an arc in my head that goes well beyond this game and everything that we are doing in God of War, to me, is very much building towards that. "Like you see the second God of War game and it ends with Kratos going up to Olympus. Everybody said that it was the stupidest decision like why are you doing this, nobody wants a cliffhanger ending.

"But I was like, whatever, this is awesome. This is telling people more to come, this is great. "And with this game, I think people know that we’re going to be here for a while. "Me personally, I know I’ve got a couple more of these in me."

And as always have a chilled day from the viking.
