SIMPLE BAKING FOR NOVICES NEW SERIES

Hello ladies and gents this is the viking telling you that today we are going to talk about something simple that all people should know.

HOW TO MAKE A CAKE

INGREDIENTS

  • 100 grams (3/4 cup) of all purpose flour
  • 100 grams (1/2 cup) of plain/caster sugar
  • 100 grams (1/2 cup) of oil
  • 3 eggs, optional
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder (if you want to make a chocolate cake)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/4 cup of milk


INSTRUCCIONS
1.Preheat the oven at 185 °C (365 °F).

2 Sift flour and baking powder in a bowl.

3 Add cocoa powder. Set aside (if you're making a chocolate cake)

4 Beat the eggs.

5 Add the sugar to the eggs. Beat vigorously until it becomes smooth.

6 Add oil. Beat it again, until smooth.

7 Add the vanilla essence, if you like.

8 Add the flour mixture to the batter. Beat lightly (do not use an electrical beater while beating the flour). Next, add the milk.
Sometimes you need more or less milk. The milk moisturizes the cake and keeps the cake from getting too hard.

9 Put the cake mixture aside.

10 Take a square or a circular tin and insert baking paper.
If you don't have any baking paper, grease the inside of the tin and the inside sides of the tin with butter or cooking spray and dust with flour.

11Pour the batter in the tin.

12 Put the cake mixture into the oven for 1 hour.

13 Insert a toothpick into the center, to check for doneness. If it comes out clean, it's done. If not, bake it for a few more minutes.

14 Let it rest in the oven for 2-4 minutes, after the cake is baked.

15Take out and serve.
