Hello ladies and gents this is the viking telling you that today we are going to talk about this lovely little spot that my good friend Dannah told me about called.
Siem Reap is the capital city of Siem Reap Province in northwestern Cambodia. It is a popular resort town and a gateway to the Angkor region.
Siem Reap has colonial and Chinese-style architecture in the Old French Quarter and around the Old Market. In the city, there are museums, traditional Apsara dance performances, a Cambodian cultural village, souvenir and handicraft shops, silk farms, rice-paddies in the countryside, fishing villages and a bird sanctuary near the Tonle Sap Lake and a vibrant, cosmopolitan drinking and dining scene.
Siem Reap today—being a popular tourist destination—has a large number of hotels, resorts, restaurants and businesses closely related to tourism. This is much owed to its proximity to the Angkor temples, the most popular tourist attraction in Cambodia.

Visit Angkor Wat – the symbol of Cambodia
This goes without saying and we don’t think a single person would visit Siem Reap without venturing out to see the wonderful temples of Angkor. The largest religious monument in the world offers stunning sights during the sunrise, however, it is also the busiest moment to visit. If you are serious about seeing the Angkor temple without all the tourists then see it from above with a Helicopter ride, or join a full-day Angkor Wat guided Tour during the off-peak time that your guide will advise you.
Hop on a Jeep or a dirt bike for an offroad experience
If you want to discover some of the ‘forgotten’ temples and explore the Cambodian countryside then hiring a jeep to discover Beng Melea temple and to visit Kampong Kleang, the largest floating village of Cambodia, or to visit the ruins of the Bantey Srey temple complex, is a must try.
Visit Les Artisans d’Angkor
Les Artisans d’ Angkor is a social enterprise company helping bring jobs to rural villages, keeping ancient Khmer arts alive and promote fair development of Khmer arts and crafts. They have a showroom in the city and you can also shop online. Les Artisans d’ Angkor also offer workshops and have an interesting silk museum open to visitors.
