QUI-GON JINN

Qui-Gon Jinn  is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed by Liam Neeson. He is the main protagonist of the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. In the film, Jinn is a Jedi Master and the mentor of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Tasked by the Jedi Council to protect Queen Padmé Amidala of Naboo, Jinn encounters a young Anakin Skywalker, whom he believes to be the prophesied "Chosen One" who will bring balance to the Force. Jinn concludes Anakin must be trained as a Jedi, much to the disapproval of the Council. Jinn later partakes in the Battle of Naboo, but is eventually killed in a duel by Sith Lord Darth Maul. In his final moments, Jinn makes Kenobi promise that he will train the young Skywalker.

The sequel to The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones (2002), reveals that a young Jinn was mentored by the major antagonist of the film Count Dooku, a former Jedi who fell to the dark side and became a Sith Lord. The TV show Star Wars: The Clone Wars would reveal that Jinn managed to retain his identity after his death, though in an incomplete form. He would later commune with Yoda and Kenobi, as revealed at the end of Revenge of the Sith (2005), proving instrumental in helping them guide Anakin's son, Luke, in his struggle against Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine. Jinn appears as a disembodied voice, along with other past Jedi, during the final battle of The Rise of Skywalker (2019), empowering Rey to face the rejuvenated Palpatine.

And as always have a chilled day from the Viking.
