NEW SERIES: 101

Hello ladies and gents this is the Viking telling you that today we are talking about a brand new series where we talk about an event that changed the world i have 101 of them ready but today we will start with 

FALL OF THE BERLIN WALL

In this series we will go through the W questions about this pivotal event 

WHAT?

Picture this if you will its a hot blustery August day you are on the German border and see many many soldiers building a wall and you ask them why and get pushed over you see your 9 year old son playing.

 

On what you now realise is the other side so you call for him and lift him over the barbed wire and run back to your tiny place. What you dont realise is from the Mediterranean to the Baltic a wall was being erected a giant separation that will not fall till your son is in the 50ies.

WHY?

In the late 80ies in Russia they where a changing people that could see how fast the rest of the world has evolved and changed and because of this a building movement was growing with in the non russian members of the USSR we will focus on Hungary they actually pulled their section down so imagine you are the East german woman from what and you realise you can escape and still live in the country of your birth you can go south to Hungary and slip through the wall.

The same movement was building within Romania and they revolted but eventually won and well I was curious why there wasnt many people in East Germany, well there was but the leader of the country was a strong Stalinist and if it was up to him the wall would still be up... 

WHO?

Gunter Shabowski "the spokeman" who said these immortal words that changed the wall:

"Private travel outside the country can now be applied for without prerequisites,"

then these last words when asked When?

WHEN?

"Immediately as far as i know" then BOOM!!! like that the wave of people crashed into and in through the checkpoints not stopping as the biggest party ever happened that rejoined everyone that has been separated on the famous day of The 9th of November 1989
