In 1918, the country existed after the end of the First World War. The Yugoslav royal dynasty was originated from Serbian royal House of Karađorđević. On July 13th, 1922, the international recognition was obtained by Yugoslavia in Paris at Conference of Ambassadors. The name of the country is taken from the name of South Slavic people. For the rest of the history, their territory was under the control of Austrian-Hungary and Ottoman Empire.

Yugoslavia was ruled under the presidency of Josip Broz Titi until his death in 1980. He was also known as a partisan leader.
