WEEKEND TREATS

 Hello ladies and gents this is the Viking telling you that today we are talking about 

TOMAHAWK STEAK WITH TRUFFLE BRIE MASH




INGREDIENTS

  • Serves 2
  • 1kg tomahawk steak
  • Vegetable oil
  • 120g désirée potatoes
  • 55g brie, chopped into chunks
  • Salt and pepper
  • 5g fresh black truffle
  • 10g truffle butter
  • Splash of milk
  • 1tbsp English mustard 

 

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C and preheat a large frying pan on the hob
  2. Oil and season the steak
  3. Sear the steak on the hob until golden
  4. Transfer onto a baking tray and cook for 24 minutes
  5. Turn over after 12 minutes
  6. Rest the steak for 10 minutes
  7. Meanwhile make the mash potato by peeling and chopping the potatoes
  8. Boil for 10-15 minutes until tender
  9. Drain and pass through a ricer or mash until smooth
  10. Beat in the brie and truffle butter
  11. Add a splash of milk
  12. Transfer to a serving dish
  13. Serve the rested steak on your favourite sharing plate with a good twist of black pepper & a spoon of English Mustard
