  1. Paracetamol (or acetaminophen) is a common analgesic , It is one of the most commonly used drug that is used for the treatment of pain, Headaches, fever, flu etc.
  2. Paracetamol was used for the very first time by German physician, Joseph von Mering, on his patients in 1887, after it was created by Harmon Northrop, an American chemist, ten years earlier.
  3. Before Paracetamol was not commonly used for 60 years, another substance, phenacetin, was more widely promoted.
  4. Paracetamol is one of the widely taken drug and also the safest, but if you have any liver related problems do avoid taking paracetamol or consult your doctor.
  5. Few people may have side effects of stomach pain or skin rash after taking paracetamol, Others can also be  allergic to paracetamol, with symptoms of hives, swelling of the face and/or difficulty in breathing.
  6. The labelling on the backside of paracetamol products for use in children contain a warning that paracetamol should not be given to children or adolescents for more than 48 hours untill and unless advised by a doctor.
  7. Paracetamol comes in different forms such as in the form of tablets and syrups etc. Even different flavors can be added to it.
  8. If you take an overdose of paracetamol, rush to your doctor and get yourself checked because this can be poisonous and can damage your liver specially if you are an alcoholic it can work as toxin.
  9. Paracetamol is generally the medicine of choice for people with chronic pain such as painful osteoarthritis. Paracetamol should only be used or taken for a long period of time as per your doctor’s supervision.
  10. Basically Paracetamol is used in the for of 500mg and 650mg tablets that last long for 6 hrs
