VERY INTERESTING: BONOBOS

Hello ladies and gents this is the Viking telling you that today we are talking about

Surprising facts about bonobos

1- Bonobos (Pan paniscus) share 98.7% of our DNA. They are genetically

closer to humans than they are to gorillas. They are our closest primate cousins.

2- After humans, bonobos are the most bipedal of the great apes,

moving on their hind quarters between 20% and 25% of the time when they are on the ground.

3- Female bonobos are the dominant animals governing social groups.

As part of this essential role, they sometimes form alliances with each other in order to control

certain males.

4- Our closest cousins use their sexuality to ease a range of tensions.

Beyond reproduction, they use sexual contact to reinforce bonds, to relieve stress, anxiety and anger, as well as to receive food or even to move up in the social hierarchy.

5- Bonobos can make love face to face

and sometimes kiss using their

tongues. Males and females engage in these encounters with their own sex

as well as the opposite sex, and can do so with any member of the group.

And as always have a chilled day from the Viking
