Chocolate Apple Cake

You're going to love the combination of apples and chocolate! This recipe for a chocolate apple cake creates a dense, delicious dessert that is sure to please. And is unique enough that everyone will be wanting the recipe!


  • 2 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 Cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 Cup cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 2 eggs large
  • 3/4 Cup vegetable oil
  • 3 Cups apples diced and divided
  • 1 Cup nuts finally chopped

Instructions

  1. Prep: Preheat oven to 350˚ F. Grease a 9x13x2 inch pan.
  2. Sift: Sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice.
  3. Beat Together: Beat in the eggs, oil and 1 cup of the apples. Beat for 3 minutes on medium speed.
  4. Combine: Stir in the remaining apples and nuts. Pour into the baking pan.
  5. Bake: Bake for 40-50 minutes in a preheated 350˚F oven.  It is done when a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
