Chocolate Apple Cake

You're going to love the combination of apples and chocolate! This recipe for a chocolate apple cake creates a dense, delicious dessert that is sure to please. And is unique enough that everyone will be wanting the recipe!
- 2 Cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 Cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 Cup cocoa
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 2 eggs large
- 3/4 Cup vegetable oil
- 3 Cups apples diced and divided
- 1 Cup nuts finally chopped
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat oven to 350˚ F. Grease a 9x13x2 inch pan.
- Sift: Sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice.
- Beat Together: Beat in the eggs, oil and 1 cup of the apples. Beat for 3 minutes on medium speed.
- Combine: Stir in the remaining apples and nuts. Pour into the baking pan.
- Bake: Bake for 40-50 minutes in a preheated 350˚F oven. It is done when a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
