Bruno Mars’ real name is Peter Gene Bayot Hernandez. His stage name, “Bruno Mars,” was inspired by the wrestler Bruno Samartino, because, as a child, Bruno was confident, independent, and strong-willed, like the wrestler. The ‘Mars’ came along because girls used to say he was “out of this world,” so he used the planet Mars as his last name.

His Twitter is @BrunoMars, and he has over 43 million followers as of 2023!

Bruno Mars is 37 years old and was born on October 8, 1986, in Waikiki, Hawaii.

His father, Pete, was a Latin percussionist, and his mother, Bernadette (Bernie), was a singer.

He was one of six children!

At the age of 4, Bruno performed with his family’s band, The Love Notes, as an Elvis impersonato

Growing up, Mars said he was heavily influenced by Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley and even had the nickname “Little Elvis.”

Bruno Mars is of Puerto Rican and Filipino descent.

When Bruno was 15 years old, he had a crush on his teacher (over twice his age), and he gave her a love letter with his mother’s ring in it, which he had stolen from her. The teacher told his mother and gave her the ring back.

Bruno Mars’s favorite food is Chicken Adobo, which is the national dish of the Philippines.

Once graduating from High School, he moved to Los Angeles, where he then started writing songs. He says the reason for this is that when he was in Hawaii, he never really needed to write.
