LONDON FOODS

Hello ladies and gents this is the Viking telling you that today we are talking about

Luce e Limoni

The evocative citrusy name immediately conjures up thoughts of Sicily – not surprising, since Luce e Limoni is intended as a heartfelt homage to chef/proprietor Fabrizio Zafarana’s native island. His menu taps into the traditions of Sicilian cooking with all its historic trading influences and sunny flavours – from dried broad bean soup with spicy squid, or wind-dried tuna ‘prosciutto’ with artichokes and olives, to bucatini with sardines, or Sicilian sausage and potato tortellini with tomato, basil and spicy sprouting broccoli.

Mains also stay true to Fabrizio’s roots (think grilled tuna with peperonata ‘agrodolce’, or slow-roast belly pork with lentils and Marsala reduction), and desserts such as cassata, cannoli or pistachio semifreddo with Sicilian melon jelly continue the theme. To drink, check out the wines from the island’s artisan producers.

And as always have a chilled day from the Viking
