CHOCOLATE

Hello ladies and gents this is the Viking telling you that today we are talking about

Chocolate Puff Pastry

These crispy pastries, very similar to my festive Puff Pastry with Nutella, are simply made with store bought puff pastry and chocolate. Perfect for dessert or breakfast!

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry
  • 1 cup dark (semisweet) chocolate chips or use your favorite chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon powdered (icing) sugar

Instructions

  1. Thaw the frozen puff pastry sheets according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400ºF/200ºC and line a baking sheet with non-stick parchment paper.
  3. Lay one sheet of thawed puff pastry on a cutting board and cut the square into 6 rectangles approximately 3 inches by 5 inches (8cm x 12.5 cm).
  4. Scatter half of the chocolate chips over the pastry.
  5. From the short end, roll up each rectangle capturing the chocolate chips inside.
  6. Repeat with remaining pastry and chocolate chips.
  7. Arrange rolled pastry on a prepared baking sheet with the seam on the bottom.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Sieve powdered sugar over pastries before serving.

And as always have a chilled day from the Viking
